Fantastic Rockets weekend at Bridlington Beachfest

Last weekend, on the 3rd and 4th of July Nottingham Rockets travelled up en masse for a great weekend of volleyball in the sun. Over 73 teams turned up to the UK's longest running beach tournament and the weather was perfect, aside from a few minor sandstorms! With 19 Rockets players and several supporters, in six different teams.... you'd think we'd have won something!!
Best performance of the weekend went to Head Coach, managing to win games on both days and reach the quarters of the plate competition. Rockets A/I/1 (I can't remember) had a great first day, making it into the main draw on the Sunday and earning themselves an 11 o clock lie in. This they sacrificed for the team and were on the sidelines cheering at 9am! The two other Rockets squads had disappointing first days (until they hit Makis/Spain won their quarter final) but had much more success in Sunday's bucket and spade. With crowds of up to 15 people, the best mexican wave of the tournament and lines of supporters waiting to slap their hands..... they got a few more Rockets victories in the sandstorm.
Final placings.... I have no idea but an utterly brilliant weekend so thank you to James for booking us all in. Can't wait until next year!
Photographs are now up on the Nottingham Rockets Facebook page (see links) and will be up on the website shortly.
