At last night’s East Midland’s Volleyball Association AGM and Awards, Nottingham Rockets were announced winners of the Club of the Year Award, for the second year running! The award recognises the achievements of the club over the last year, including the success of the Men’s 1 and Women’s 1 teams in winning their respective leagues, but also the social side of the club with recent entries in the Bridlington and Nottingham Riviera tournaments. Congratulations to all the club, but in particular those who have helped out with the organising over the last 12 months.

Representatives of Nottingham Rockets Women’s I also picked up their East Midlands League Winners medals from Regional Chair Janet Inman. The squad had an unbeaten season, losing only 1 set and placed 2nd at the Regional Champions Trophy. With a move into the NVL next season, Women’s 2 now take on the challenge of keeping the title at Rockets!

Head Coach Paul Lamb was also re-elected to his role as Junior Development Officer (along with Lincoln’s Naz Sutton) for the East Midlands Volleyball Association. This involves leading on the East Midlands Talent Development Programme and the selection of representative teams for the Inter Regional Championships. All the Regional coaches were thanked for their hard work on the programme last year and we wish Paul good luck again this year!
