Junior Volleyball Achievements in National Competition

Nottingham Rockets are delighted to be sending our U18 Girls squad to the Last 8 of the Volleyball England Grand Prix series. The team have placed 7th nationally and qualified for the finals for the first time in the history of Nottingham Rockets. The team have been expertly coached by Jason Ho. Jason is a veteran coach from Hong Kong enjoying his first season with  Rockets and he's had an instant impact, gelling a talented and hard working group of players together.

The squad go to the Grand Prix with all of our best wishes and we as a club are immensely proud of what they have achieved. The team have been playing some excellent teams along the way and to achieve the results they have demonstrates the strong future of volleyball in the club and for the players as individuals.

Rockets are committed to building upon the success of this season and are working with the coaches across the club to re-structure our junior pathway, focusing on strong fundamentals of play, team work and enjoyment, providing a pathway for our junior players to our senior East Midlands and National Volleyball League teams as well as the East Midlands squads and (hopefully!) a place on the national pathways.

The U18 boys will be competing in the Bronze pool and have played consistently well through the Grand Prix series, missing out on a few wins against strong opponents. Like the girls, they have made the club proud with their attitude and work and we ;look forward to finishing the tournament strongly!

Good luck to both squads and congratulations on a fantastic achievement!
